Sponsoring a Pilgrim

Do you have a passion for helping motivate leaders from your church to “do even greater things” for God?

Sponsorship may be for you!

We have a selection of documents that you can use should you decide to sponsor someone for the Walk to Emmaus. The first two in this list can be shared with your pilgrim.

Your responsibilities should you decide to sponsor someone for the Walk to Emmaus are in the Pilgrim Sponsor Kit above, however, in short:

  • Pray about sponsoring your potential Pilgrim
  • Ask the Pilgrim if they would like to attend and have them fill out an application which also needs to be signed by the Pilgrim’s pastor.
  • Maintain contact with your pilgrim before the Walk to Emmaus weekend.
  • Collect 8-12 personal agape letters to be given to the Pilgrim on Sunday.
  • There is a cost to the Walk to Emmaus. There is a $250 pilgrim fee which covers the cost of renting Camp Rappahannock which is paid for by the sponsor. Additionally, there is a $50 registration fee – which can be paid by the sponsor or the pilgrim.
  • Bring your pilgrim out to dinner (if desired) and then arrive at Camp Rappahannock between 7:00-7:30pm on the Thursday night of the Walk.
  • Stay and participate in Sponsors Hour on Thursday night.
  • Come to Candlelight on Saturday night (normally starts at 7:30pm).
  • Come to Closing on Sunday (starts at 4:00pm).
  • Pray for your Pilgrim throughout the weekend.
